Phase 1 of new buildings approved

We recently had our first phase of new buildings approved by Westminster Council.

This adds roughly 5000 square feet of totally new classroom space in a purpose-built block on our “annexe” site. This includes 8-9 new teaching rooms for school and sixth form age groups, including a music room.

The block is 3 floors (basement, ground and 1st floor) and includes a roof terrace for outside space.

Construction of this is scheduled to begin in May 2018 and will take around 5 months (with much of the structure being pre-built off site, it shortens the build time).

This paves the way for the 2nd phase of planning for a larger, new block on the main school site.

Below you will find some architect drawings of the new block and their descriptions.

This is an exciting time for Bales as we grow the school significantly over the next 3-4 years. The building will cost around £1.4 million to build and demonstrates our conviction in the future plan to build Bales to be one of the leading mid-sized independent schools in London, and to be a significant part of the local community including Kensal Rise, Queens Park, Ladbroke Grove and Maida Vale.

Jake Moore and Joe Moore are overseeing the development – see news item here for more information about our Independent School Leaders.
