At Bales College, we aim to foster an environment where pupils act in a mature and responsible way. Especially in the older years, when pupils will soon be moving on to university, we help them to develop their own determination to succeed and challenge themselves, encouraging independent research and responsibility for their own success.

 

This sort of an approach delivers an environment where most pupils learn to behave in a mature and self-controlled manner, without the need for excessive punishment.

 

However, at times when we feel it appropriate, firm but fair punishments must be given when students need an extra push in the right direction. When this occurs we always wish to discuss the issue with the student involved, and the parents/guardians if necessary.
