A limited number of places are available for students to join us for the A2 year only. Students move to us for a variety of reasons, including:
• Unsatisfactory AS results
• Feeling that more personalised tuition would really benefit them
• Wanting to complete their A-level studies in a more scholarly
environment
Even if students have sat exams at another institution that followed a different exam board to that followed by Bales College, it is usually easy to transfer results already obtained.
The student's full unit result history will be discussed and analysed in detail to work out the most appropriate examination schedule for the course at Bales. If it is in the student's educational interest to improve existing marks in one or more of the AS units, this will be arranged. The teaching of all our A2 topics automatically includes a brief revision of the AS topics because the A2 synoptic unit includes questions drawn from all parts of the specification.
In our small community, students who join us for year 13 quickly make friends and feel part of the year group - they are certainly not seen as outsiders!
